About

Franck Armand has had a very eclectic career.
A scientist by training, he spent 15 years as director of fundamental research in nanotechnology at a public laboratory. During his scientific career, he taught the history and philosophy of science at several prestigious universities (Paris-Saclay, ENS Cachan, etc.).

He left the traditional scientific path because he made a major discovery during his studies: artistic practices of concentration. As a student, he completed his doctoral thesis in Japan, where he was also trained in Japanese arts (calligraphy, tea ceremony, aikido) in traditional settings. For 20 years, he has been teaching the practice of meditation in action, known as the Japanese tea ceremony, in France and Europe. He has continued his own training to this day and has now reached the highest level of teaching in this art.

He has been a Feldenkrais practitioner for nearly 30 years. He trained in Alsace (Strasbourg International Feldenkrais Training) alongside Janine Holenstien, with whom he worked for four years and formed a close friendship. In 2005, he left the conventional scientific community to create Mirokou, an organization through which he supports research teams in difficulty and leads workshops, training courses, and individual coaching sessions using the Feldenkrais Method. He was very active for many years in international Feldenkrais organizations, contributing to the development of the practitioner evaluation system and serving as chairman of EuroTab for four years. His work on the Feldenkrais Method and the Japanese tea ceremony aims to promote concentration and flexibility of mind.

In 2012, together with other experts in concentration practices derived from traditional Asian meditation, he created Ways&Lore, Chemins&Traditions. In this context, he continues to teach practices to leaders in the medical and business worlds. He regularly visits public hospitals to help medical staff manage situations of overload.

A practitioner of the Sounder Sleep System, he was trained by Janine and contributed to several training courses with her. Appointed by her as “Senior Teacher” in April 2025, he co-facilitated the last training course given by Janine before her death. Janine appointed him “Trainer” of the Sounder Sleep System in January 2026.
